Allyson L. Buchanan
Allyson, or Ally to her friends, is an associate with Wynne, Pringle, Jeske & Keesmaat and practices in civil litigation with a focus on estate litigation, capacity litigation, and elder law. Prior to joining the firm, Ally practiced at a full-service firm in Hamilton following her call to the bar in 2023.
Ally was part of the first graduate cohort of the partnership program between Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Sussex, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with distinction and her Bachelor of Laws with first class honours, respectively. During law school, Ally competed in various legal competitions, including winning her Junior Advocacy Competition.
Ally’s practice focuses on assisting individuals in navigating contentious estate litigation and capacity issues. She has represented estate trustees, beneficiaries, substitute decision makers, and other interested parties in a variety of matters, including will challenges, challenges to powers of attorney, dependent relief claims, guardianship applications, and applications to pass accounts. Ally frequently appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Small Claims Court.
Ally is an active member of the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club as well as the Hamilton Law Association. She currently sits on the HLA’s New Lawyers Subcommittee.
Outside of work, Ally enjoys travelling, theatre, and exploring artisan shops, parks, and restaurants in the greater Hamilton area.
